IDV providers
Great for document authenticity, face match, liveness and identity risk. They do not show home access.
DoorID is not trying to look like another ID check. It gives lenders a different proof point: the applicant can complete a live journey at the declared address.
Most providers are excellent at identity, document, AML or data checks. DoorID owns a narrower and more valuable proof: can this applicant complete a live address journey?
Great for document authenticity, face match, liveness and identity risk. They do not show home access.
Useful for matching names, addresses, device signals and bureau histories. They infer, rather than witness, access.
Adds a live address-verification event and controlled evidence pack to the existing stack.
This is the plain explanation to use with lenders and brokers.
| Buyer question | DoorID answer |
|---|---|
| Do we need to replace our IDV provider? | No. DoorID is an additional live address-verification control that can sit after identity and credit checks. |
| Why not use proof-of-address documents? | Documents show an address claim. DoorID shows a live address journey at that property. |
| Why not use open banking? | Open banking can show that an account exists. It does not show that the right applicant can access the declared address. |
| Is there friction? | Yes, deliberately. It is used where risk justifies a short customer action before approval, drawdown or funding. |
Use DoorID only where the extra step is worth it: higher-risk cases, pre-funding checks and cases where address certainty matters.
